Alpine Skiing -- A Brief Introduction

Downhill skiing, also known as Alpine skiing, has become quite a popular recreational activity in snow covered areas. This activity involves using narrow skis attached to the bottom of your feet in order to slide down a snow covered slope. Alpine skiing actually branched off from another form of skiing called cross-country skiing. The main difference is that with cross-country skiing, you do not start at the top of a slope.
